The bridge and river section under construction using plaster cloth. Saran wrapped sections will hold the epoxy ice near the shore, while epoxy water effects will be poured in the center, then covered with loose pieces of ice to represent ice flows often found in moving water

I use Evens Designs flickering lights to simulate flames, after creating multiple fire positions around the diorama using coffee grounds and sticks from my wife’s garden to represent ashes and firewood.

Vehicles of all kinds were used to transport retreating troops in the freezing temperatures, often making them resort to walking after engines froze in the cold. A burned out farmhouse and snow laden trees heighten the effect of desolation.
