Battle of Hue 1968 Vietnam
I was in Hue in 1969 exactly one year after the Tet Battle. The streets still showed the scares and major destruction the city incurred in one of the most vicious battles of the war. I wanted to depict the bravery of the US Marines who fought so gallantly in this battle in my tribute diorama

Every house was badly damaged as the battle raged street to street in the city

The battle was vicious as dead and wounded mounted up on both sides

A buddhist temple became a NVA strong point, sustaining major damage during the battle.

Casualties on both sides were very heavy, with thousands of soldiers and civilians losing their lives.
Casualty aide stations were set up in the middle of the fight to treat the wounded.
Hidden enemy machine guns raked the street from all sides

The city was virtually destroyed during the fierce and vicious house to house, street to street battle .
